30 years fixing everything. Written by a tradesman, not a website.

Who writes the guides

Thirty years of hands-on work across the building trades, plumbing, and motorcycle and auto mechanics. Every method in a guide is one used on real jobs.

Better than a video

A video shows one person fixing one model. A field guide starts from your symptom: a 60-second diagnosis table, a test that confirms the cause before you buy anything, a fit check for every part (tools with exact part numbers; wear parts matched by VIN or the old part), and illustrated steps showing what you should see, the common mistake and what to do when you're stuck. The illustrations are AI-generated drawings made for each guide from real reference photos and maker documentation, not photos of the author's work. Our guides are written for North American (US and Canada) homes and vehicles.

Honest about limits

Every guide marks the safety stops: gas, electrical, asbestos, permits and local code. When a job needs a licensed pro, the guide says so.

How Repair Guider makes money

Mostly by selling the guides. Some parts pages also have 'Check price on Amazon' buttons: as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases made through them. Other store links earn us nothing, and the PDF guides contain no affiliate links. See the affiliate disclosure.

Editions

Every guide carries an edition number, a date and a changelog, so you know what you have.
