No warranty; limitation of liability
NO WARRANTY; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. This guide is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, Züst Works disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that any method, part number or fit check in this guide is correct for your home or vehicle or will fix your problem. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Züst Works (Repair Guider) and the author are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for damage to property, vehicles, appliances or parts, arising from the use or misuse of this guide. Our total liability for any other claim relating to this guide is limited to the price you paid for it. This does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for gross negligence, wilful misconduct or fraud, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you (including, for residents of Quebec, the Consumer Protection Act and the Civil Code of Québec, and for residents of Ontario, the Consumer Protection Act, 2002). Some US states and Canadian provinces do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or the limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Prices, part numbers and fit
Costs are typical ranges at the time of writing and vary by region and over time. Part numbers and fitment change; confirm fit for your exact model before you buy.
Trademarks
Brand and product names are trademarks of their respective owners. They are used only to identify compatible parts and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Affiliate disclosure
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. On repairguider.com, the 'Check price on Amazon' buttons on the parts pages are Amazon affiliate links (marked as such, with rel="sponsored"): if you buy through one, Repair Guider may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. All other store links are plain links that earn us nothing. The PDF guides contain no affiliate links. Prices and availability on Amazon are set by Amazon and its sellers and can change.
Governing law and courts
GOVERNING LAW AND COURTS. These terms are governed by Swiss law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Courts at Grub AR, Canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden, Switzerland, have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, or your right to bring a claim in the courts there. If you live in Canada, this includes your provincial consumer protection law (for example Quebec's Consumer Protection Act and Civil Code, or Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002). If you live in the United States, it includes the consumer protection laws of your state. We do not require arbitration and we do not restrict class actions where the law gives you that right.
Your local consumer rights apply
Nothing in these terms takes away the mandatory consumer rights of the place where you live. We do not require arbitration, we do not ask you to waive class actions, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live where the law gives you that right.
Illustrations
The images in the guides are AI-generated illustrations made for these guides, based on real reference photos and maker documentation. They are not photos of the author's work, may simplify or differ from your equipment, and product and brand names are shown for identification only. We are not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by any vehicle or parts maker named.
Market
Our guides are written for North American (US and Canada) homes and vehicles: 120/240 V electrics, US/Canadian codes and parts. They are not written for other markets.
This website
Content on repairguider.com is general information, provided as is. Guide pages, parts lists and prices can change without notice. Field guides are sold as digital PDF downloads through Gumroad and Etsy; the platform you buy on handles payment, delivery and its own terms of sale. A purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to download, read and print the guide for your own use; please don't resell, share or republish the files. Lending a printed copy to a family member is fine. The sample pages shown on this site are previews only.
Home repair guides
These terms apply in addition to everything above whenever you use a Repair Guider home repair guide or its parts page.
General information only
This guide describes methods its author uses on typical residential equipment. Your equipment, its age and condition, your local codes and your skills may differ. Nothing in it is professional advice for your specific situation.
You do the work at your own risk
Repairs involve water, gas, electricity, heat, weight and sharp tools. You are responsible for your own safety, for the people around you and for your property. Read the manufacturer's instructions for your appliance and every part you install; where they differ from this guide, follow the manufacturer. Use suitable protective equipment.
Stop and call a licensed professional
If you smell gas; if the work involves mains wiring beyond like-for-like part swaps; if you suspect asbestos or lead; if a permit, inspection or licensed trade is required where you live; or whenever you are unsure, uncomfortable or a step does not go as described.
Codes, permits and warranties
Building codes and licensing rules vary by country, state and city, and some work must legally be done or inspected by a licensed professional. Check with your local building authority. Doing your own repairs may affect a manufacturer's warranty, an insurance policy or a rental agreement.
Car guides
CAR GUIDES: YOU DO THE WORK AT YOUR OWN RISK. Vehicle repairs involve fuel under pressure, fire, hot parts, battery acid, electricity, heavy lifting and stored energy. Never work under a vehicle held up only by a jack: use rated jack stands on firm, level ground, wheels chocked. Stop and use a qualified mechanic if you smell fuel you can't trace or see fuel leaking; if you can't lift and support the vehicle safely; for any work on airbags/SRS, seat-belt pretensioners or high-voltage (hybrid/EV, orange) systems; if brakes, steering or suspension work goes beyond what the guide describes; or whenever a step does not go as described. After any brake work, test the brakes at walking speed in a safe place before driving in traffic. Tampering with emission controls is illegal (US Clean Air Act; Canadian federal and provincial rules).
Jack stands
Use a matched pair of rated jack stands of the same model, set to the same height, on hard, level ground, under the maker's lift points, under one end of the vehicle only.
Airbags and SRS are out of scope
Airbags, seat-belt pretensioners and the SRS system are out of scope for every Repair Guider guide. Reading an SRS code with a scanner is fine; disconnecting, removing, testing or repairing SRS parts is not covered: a qualified mechanic does it.
Emissions and roadworthiness
Emissions, safety-inspection and roadworthiness rules are set where your vehicle is registered and vary by country, state and city. Follow them. Brake and other safety work may need an inspection where you live.
